"lay your hands on me"

Two weeks ago at church, I found out one of my favorite messianic singer is coming on March 13 - Joel Chernoff @ Seed of Abraham. You can’t see me right now but I’m doing my happy dance. I remember the first time hearing one of his songs “Lay your hands on me” I was being micvah and that song was playing. There were several congregations at one of the member’s farm and we used his lake. The minute they announced it at church, I knew Abba wanted me to do it and this time I wanted to. After I was dunked, it felt like a lot of weight lifted off me and I had peace. I had a strong leading to do it again last fall for witnessing and preaching the word. I was baptized once before Seed’s but it was at my brother’s church. Even though I wanted to be baptized, I still had to because I was a teacher there. I felt forced my heart wasn't in it at all. It didn't seem right but I did it anyway.

LAY YOUR HANDS ON ME
Abba Father, lay your hands on me,
Holy Spirit, set this captive free,
From the chains, that are holding me,
Lay your hands on me.

Precious Father, how my spirit craves,
More to yield, to your love and grace,
More to bow, down before your face,
Lay your hands on me.
________________________________________
All that I need is to touch, the hem of your garment I pray
All that I need is your touch, to raise up my life from the dead.
Lay your hands, Lay your hands,
Lay your hands on me, Lay your hands on me,
Set this captive free, give me eyes to see.

Abba Father, lay your hands on me,
Holy Spirit, set this captive free,
From the chains, that are holding me,
Lay your hands on me.
________________________________________
In the night, I can hear your voice,
Calling come, let your heart rejoice,
Help me Lord, not resist that choice,
Lay your hands on me.
________________________________________
All that I need is to touch, the hem of your garment I pray
All that I need is your touch, to raise up my life from the dead.
Lay your hands, Lay your hands,
Lay your hands on me
________________________________________
Lay your hands, Lay your hands
Lay your hands on me,
Lay your hands on me
Set this captive free, From the chains,
From the chains,
Holding me, holding me.

Yeshua have mercy,
Root of Jesse, Lion of Judah,
Lay your hands on me.
Son of David, Lord have mercy,
Lay your hands on me.

The next level

Next month @ my station there will be a county wide firehouse chili cook off. I am definitely entering it. My chili is not the best but the guys at my station seem to like it. One of my requirements as a firefighter besides drills & training is to belong to two committees. All probies must do kitchen duty as one of their first committees until probation is up. After several months of being a probie, the firefighter cooking the meals stepped down. That same night as I was cleaning up the area, bringing the dishes into the kitchen, Tom (FF) & Jerry (Captain) looked at me, then at each other with a grin as if a light bulb went on over their heads, then looked at me again and said my name at the same time "Theresa, how would you like to be the chief cook? See... several months as probie and you are already chief." Yup, 11 years already as chief cook. My job is to cook and feed 30 firefighters twice a month. "A fed firefighter is a happy firefighter." Anyways, Abba always does that to us. We think to ourselves, there is no way I could ever do that. It's just too hard. Then Abba will always find a way for us to do it. Abba loves to keep moving us forward, taking us to - the next level.

"To whom much is given, much will be required"

With my mom's close companion passing away last week, I started think about what I would leave behind if Abba choose me to go home. I belong to the West Albany Fire Dept. This July it will be 12 years. When I was interview to be a firefighter, all the chiefs, captains, and lieutenants all sat around me in a circle grilling me asking why, several times over, I would want to be a firefighter. They were all concerned if I would pass down their traditions. Being a female, They were also concerned on how I would bond w/ the other firefighters and if I would be strong enough to do the job. When I first started, I went thru 3 months of firefighting training and was on probation for a year. A lot of preparation goes into being a firefighter but also a true believer. But what preparation are we leaving behind for the next generation? It seems that every generation is getting weaker and compromising more to the world. Granted every believer, thru the power of the Holy Spirit , is responsible for their walk but if we are slowly walking away from Abba, compromising our walk and passing that down to the next generation, how can we make sure that we will be passing down who God is with no compromise? In the Old Testament, we consistently see God’s people walking away from him and going back. Abba used a 19 year old King Josiah to tear down the idols and restore the temple. At age 25 King Josiah loved the lord and brought restoration by hearing God’s word convicting his heart and renewing the convent with Abba. God’s word cannot be compromised. Many false teachers like to change God’s word to fit their agenda. We are more blessed now then when God’s people were back then and we are now also without excuse. We have the Holy Spirit inside us and we have the Old & New Testament in our hands. To whom much is given, much will be required.

greatly missed

Today, I write with a sad note. My mom's very good friend/ boyfriend Gerard passed away this week after brief illness. He was placed in hospice last week. He was like a second dad w/ most of the family members and he loved us very much. He will be greatly missed.
