The movie "Heaven is for real" has taken the box office by storm and set to make good earnings. I wonder if people will actually believe his story. I have read the book also. The movie was good but very basic, made for an unbeliever but also for believers who don't understand. Why do people have such a hard time believing?
I guess the way the early church was, to the way the church is now, true intimacy with the father is almost non existent. Yeshua taught intimacy to His disciples but somehow it never made it past the early believers. The Holy Spirit was quenched and man's rules on God took over.
We are given the Holy Spirt to continue the work of what Yeshua did. We are one with Him now. Abba expects us to do the same thing as Yeshua did on this earth and we see that in the letters in the gospel. We are to follow & obey the Holy Spirit. Each one of us has a responsibly to be intimate with Abba and hear His Spirit and not to quench Him. It can't be just taught, it is something we need to do. What has happened to our child like faith when we first believed?
When we believe in something we are putting our faith into it or you can even say trust. Because you will believe in what you trust. Faith is the action of our beliefs. Hebrews 11:1 "Trusting (faith) is being confident of what we hope for, convinced about things we do not see." CJB When I taught the 8 to 12 years old kids, I explained it this way. The outlet represents what you believe in "your belief" and the plug & cord is "your faith" you will always do what you believe or trust in because you are "plugging in" and giving power to your faith in what you believe but remember likewise we can do that with unbelief as well. If we plug our faith into our unbelief, we are getting power from that unbelief by putting trust into our unbelief. If we don't believe in what to hope for, then we are going to have no trust (faith).
Yeshua explained this to me one day. I was praying a lot for someone to see their family member in Heaven. Abba had me pray for someone to see their daughter and they did. So I thought I could pray for someone to see his brother. Abba brought us up to heaven and they were walking away, looking around and just walked by their brother as if he didn't exist. I said to Yeshua "he's clueless isn't he?" Yeshua just gives me that "really, I'm trying to teach you something and you needed to say that" look. What Yeshua was trying to teach me was no matter how much we pray for them it won't work because of their unbelief. What I needed to change was what I prayed for. Now I pray for him to have understanding and let the Holy Spirit open his eyes. His deceased brother was very happy to see him.
So what we should do now is to stop plugging into the preconceived theologies of Abba that are steering us to what we believe and let the Holy Spirit direct us on what we need to know. Is anything to hard for the Lord? Remember pride will always quench the Holy Spirit. We need to seek Abba always with a humble heart. To know Him intimately. Romans 4:3 "For what does the Tanakh say? “Avraham put his trust in God, and it was credited to his account as righteousness.” Abba please open our hearts to you Spirit and guide our beliefs to the understanding of your word. Let us hear what the Spirit is saying.
Matthew 17:20 "And He said to them, “Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you."
CJB - Matthew 17:20 He said to them, “Because you have such little trust! Yes! I tell you that if you have trust as tiny as a mustard seed, you will be able to say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there!’ and it will move; indeed, nothing will be impossible for you!”
